About SMT


Mission


The Professional Society for Sales & Marketing Training (SMT) was active from 1940 until 2014 and was fully dedicated to accelerating business results for its member organizations by improving sales and marketing performance through training. SMT's mission, since 1940, was to continue its role as the leading resource and authority for the sales and marketing training industries. SMT members included corporations and their inside training executives and practitioners, consultants, suppliers, and academic institutions.


Corporate Practitioners


For the corporate sales/marketing training professional, SMT was an association dedicated to broadening training expertise, making members an even more valuable asset within their organizations. Through it's unique membership and networking environment, members were given first access to leading experts in the field of marketing and sales training to learn and share new ideas. Supported by a highly responsive staff and interactive web site, SMT brought the resources and experience to assist members and sponsoring organizations in achieving commercial success.


Academic


For the academic member, SMT was an association dedicated to academic success. Through it's unique membership and networking environment, members were able to keep current with thought leadership, share/exchange ideas with practitioners and consultants, have an opportunity to conduct research with member organizations, and make contacts to enhance recruitment of schools graduates. In addition members were able to offer expertise and make contacts for potential business relationships. Supported by a highly responsive and accessible staff, SMT brought the resources and experience to encourage your contribution and simultaneously encourage academic success .


Consultants and Vendors


For the consultant and vendor member, SMT was an association dedicated to success. Through it's unique membership and networking environment, members were able to keep current with thought leadership, share ideas with practitioners and academics, and have a forum in which to grow business as well as offer expertise. Supported by a highly responsive and accessible staff, SMT brought the resources and experience to encourage contribution and simultaneously encourage success.
